3rd Grade, 1956, Jackson Elementary
Enid, Garfied County, Oklahoma
I lived at 1317 S. 3rd. Jackson
grade school was a few blocks away. Don't know what street it was on. But I
walked to school. and we used to walk to town now and again. I'm trying to
enclose a picture of my third grade class. I know the names of the principle,
there were two principles. When I started there , I cannot remember the first
ones name but the 2nd one was Mrs. Collier...... the teachers names were Miss
Williams, first grade.......Mrs. Dugan, second grade..... Mrs. Cotton, third
grade..... My memory just failed me on the fourth , fifth, and sixth grade, but
I remember their faces so well. I went there till I left fifth grade. The
teacher in the picture is Mrs. Cotton, third grade. I am 3rd row down, second
from the left.
I have been thinking of more names of
teachers and the other principal, and I remember the first ones name was Mrs.
Sloan and the fourth grade teacher was Mrs. Hutton. I also looked up another
site and it said Jackson Elementary is a Community Service place now, or was
when the entry was made. I also have some names of some of my classmates. I
wrote their first names on the back of the pic when I was younger. I only
remember some of the last names.............
